Life is Better at the Lake

In FlightMorgan Creek Village is a small waterfront community located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, on the shores of Lake Buchanan. Lake Buchanan is the largest of the seven Highland Lakes built along the Colorado River. The community is located 15 miles northwest of the town of Burnet, Texas. In addition to panoramic views of Lake Buchanan, the community also boasts unmatched views of the iconic Spider Mountain and hills of Wolf Creek Ranch.

IMG_2318With almost 10 acres of reserve land for wildlife, Morgan Creek Village is home to an abundant array of plant and animal species, including white-tail deer, rabbits, grey fox, great blue herons, great egrets, osprey, eagles, mallard and wood ducks, to name only a few.  A quiet kayak down the creek is sure to include numerous sightings of wildlife and thrilling views of the creek, bluffs, and surrounding lake.

  1. What a great community. Our family has lived in Morgan Creek Village since 1978. It is one of the most nature abundant creeks on the lake and a favorite for skiing and kayaking. The kayaking along Bees Bluff shows you the real beauty of the creek. Fishing at our community park is fantastic and cruising around the lake by boat is a lot of fun. Swimming with the family is just classic.

    • Thanks so much for this website. While not able to attend the meeting this year, we were curious about the happenings. Great to get them so fast. This is a great tool for the community. Thanks for all the hard work and your donation of time.

  2. I’ve lived here since the winter of 1997/98, when Robbis and I were married. I love my home here, and my neighborhood. Even with the lake at almost record lows we love living here, and are the envy of many friends and family. Many of them comment: “This is your HOME? You get to LIVE here?”
We are lucky, in our neighbors and the location, and hope to stay until we have to be fed mashed peas!!

  3. Welcome back lake levels. Only 7″ low at this time (3/05/16) Can’t wait for Spring/Summer, the
lake should be full and BEAUTIFUL.

  4. Neighbors,

One of our neighbors in MCV requested to build a dock at the ramp area over the next two to three weeks and the MCVPOA Executive Board has approved the request. The boat ramp and dock will be open to all residents during the build. We asked that the build be completed by Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully this project will not interfere with anyone’s enjoyment of Boat Ramp Park.

    Thanks for your understanding.
