Log Jam on the Colorado

Hello everyone,

After the rain we received in May and June, Lake Buchanan is now at a level around 1007. This is great news for our lake, and hopefully the current El Nino will bring more rain our way this Fall (Read more about the predictions at NOAA Enso Predictions).  Many of you have heard of the log jam that occurred with the rains. Below are pictures of this spectacle! The log jam is located at the north end of the lake, just as the river enters the main part of the lake. The pictures depict a large congested area of wood and debris. Eventually this should loosen when we receive more rain.

  1. Many thanks to whoever provided these photos, since there really is no way to see and appreciate this except by boat or from the air.
